Turning 50 and The Golden Jubilee
When we engaged Tarsha to experience PX™, she was coming up to her 50th birthday considered the Golden Jubilee, and a once-in-a-lifetime occasion that deserves celebrating.
Leading up to this milestone, Tarsha had made the brave decision to exit the Occupational Therapy Rehab Consulting company she had co-founded with her business partner. After a decade of growing the business and making a positive impact while juggling family needs and long hours, she was ready for a new chapter.
It was an emotional time as she valued her partner and clients but she could not ignore the gentle whisper in her soul to find more balance in her life, doing more of the work she loved while making more time for herself, her family, and friendships.
But what was the next chapter? That was less clear.
It is well with my soul
Tarsha made another brave decision to embark on a PX™ journey in a peer group of other halftime leaders. By going back to the beginning of her story, she found the golden thread of purpose that could inform the next chapter of her career and life.
One of the highlights of her story was travelling with family, moving from country Victoria in Australia to Denver, Colorado. She recalls when her family returned to Australia to live in Wodonga with fond memories of warm-weather days, backyard sprinklers, pop-up pools, pets, and camping trips.
She shared a photo collage of the things she loved doing the most with such joy. Everything was an adult replica of her childhood experiences – being in nature and the outdoors, connecting with family and friends, and being present to herself emotionally, physically, and mentally.
This is what her soul was crying out for.
Finding purpose
After this it was easy to define her purpose statement to empower people to live a quality life every day, starting with herself. Kindness, Freedom, Independence, Service, and Wellness were the values that gave her the confidence to start her own business, PIVOT OT Services.
Tarsha engaged our global village to create new brand guidelines for the company and invested in a wardrobe edit, styling, and new photography working with our global village stylist.
Making her mark
When Tarsha turned 50, she was a lighter, brighter, and more confident version of herself. She was entering the next chapter of her life based on what brought her joy and meaning.
With new hair, a new wardrobe, and her own company she was on a journey from success to significance.
Recently we reconnected with Tarsha who informed us that she has more demand for her services than she can manage, which is wonderful news for us but creates a new set of challenges and opportunities for her.
Either way, what inspires us most about Tarsha’s story is that the second half of life can be better than the first half if we give ourselves the time and the space to connect to our purpose and what sets our soul on fire.
