Camila Lobo-Guerrero Sanz

At Markd Global, we work with global leaders who want to make a mark in their world powered by a personal sense of purpose. They are changemakers in their sphere of influence.

Every changemaker’s journey starts with PX™ – The Purpose Experience. This is an authentic experience that identifies a leader’s unique purpose and the activation plans to bring it to life.

Sibon Schouten, Founder of Markd Global connected with Camila to discover the outcomes of her PX™, and how it helped her secure a values-aligned MD role.

SS: Firstly, Camila, what is your background?

CLGS: I’m originally from Colombia, moved to Spain at 19, and later settled in the UK after marrying a Dutchman. I have two daughters, and a dog, and love the travelling and adventure that comes with being in the outdoors.

My career until now has been rooted in Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) companies, where I’ve gained extensive international experience in marketing, sales, eCommerce, and strategy across 40+ countries and various industries. I bring a strong global mindset and an action-oriented approach to everything I do. For the past 2.5 years, I’ve worked with a boutique consultancy, focusing on commercial strategy and capability building.

SS: James Godfrey, another leader who worked with us on his purpose, introduced us. What was so appealing about working with Markd Global?

CLGS: I truly enjoyed working with James and his team at Nestlé, where I witnessed firsthand his dedication to his purpose. It’s rare to see someone take on a global leadership role like his while simultaneously pursuing a PhD—it’s truly inspiring.

When I connected with you, I realised you were offering something I had attempted to do on my own a few years ago but found incredibly challenging. I appreciate the thoughtful approach and the opportunity to have someone guide me in distilling what has always been at the core of who I am.

SS: We define our audience as leaders at halftime on a journey from success to significance. Why do you think being halfway through your career and life is an important time to connect with your purpose compared to other stages of life?

CLGS: At 49, I’m determined to make the next phase of my life not only meaningful but truly fulfilling. While I’ve had a successful career so far, I can’t shake the feeling that something is missing—a misalignment between what I do and the purpose I’ve always sought.

As a little girl, I was passionate about microcredits and dreamed of working with purpose. But as my career unfolded in CPG companies, that purpose was often set aside in favour of other priorities. Everything I’ve done so far has been valuable, shaping who I am today, but now feels like the right time to align my life and career with what truly matters to me. If not now, when?

SS: What did PX™ uncover for you?

CLGS: My purpose has always been present, woven throughout my childhood, teenage years, and adulthood. Looking back, clear patterns emerge that highlight my strengths. I’m a self-starter who thrives on connecting people, ideas, and opportunities. I’m naturally curious, love to learn, and approach challenges with creativity and problem-solving skills. These traits have shaped who I am and drive my passion for making a meaningful impact.

SS: Through PX™ you connected to your origin story, and identified your core values and purpose statement, ‘Pioneering meaningful and impactful change.’ Explain how your purpose comes to life in family, work, and life.

CLGS: My purpose comes to life through my adventurous and proactive nature, both personally and professionally. I’m not afraid of change. I realised that I thrive in roles that involve creating new paths, tackling uncharted territory, and experimenting with technology and innovative approaches.

I excel when given a high degree of independence and trust, allowing me to think and work on my own while driving results.

I am motivated by opportunities to influence others, mobilise teams, and achieve impactful outcomes.

I am energised by strategic thinking and leading initiatives that drive meaningful transformation within an organisation.

And I find purpose in developing and empowering people, helping them grow and succeed within a team or organisation.

SS: It’s so clear how your purpose aligns with the impact you want to make. Congratulations on your recent appointment to MD of WonderPack Eco a sustainability-driven ecommerce company based in the UK. How did your work with Markd Global support you in acquiring this role?

CLGS: I’m excited to join WonderPack Eco, a fulfillment company that leverages technology to provide brands with personalised, thoughtful logistics solutions. This role represents a significant shift for me—new industry, new role, and a purpose-driven company.

The work I did with Markd Global helped me recognise how closely my values align with WonderPack Eco and my purpose of “Pioneering meaningful and impactful change.” This alignment gave me the courage and confidence to apply for and secure this exciting opportunity.

SS: We define ourselves as a lead-with-purpose company whether we work with leaders or companies. How do you think connecting the dots between personal and company purpose leads to more sustainable organisations?

CLGS: I believe that when personal and company purposes align, it creates a shared sense of direction that drives motivation and teamwork. People feel more connected and inspired, which leads to better decisions and a stronger focus on long-term impact. This kind of alignment makes organisations more resilient and sustainable.

SS: What does the future look like for you?

CLGS: The future looks exciting! I can’t wait to meet my new team and dive into the world of sustainable logistics, contributing to our people, partners, and planet. I’m eager to live with purpose and lead my team toward meaningful growth and impact.

SS: If you had a last message to anyone reading this, what would it be?

CLGS: The world needs better leaders. Investing time in becoming a better leader and understanding yourself is one of the greatest gifts you can give—to yourself and others. Lead with authenticity and purpose; it makes all the difference.

Wrapping up

Camila reminds us that purpose is within us guiding us through every stage of life. In some stages, we are more aligned with our purpose than others.

However, defining our purpose is challenging on our own. We need the opportunity to step back and be given the tools to see the magic in our stories, that we often take for granted. This empowers us to step into new opportunities with clarity and confidence.

We encouraged Camila to attend the Purpose to Impact program in Amsterdam, which is a 2-day in-person program led by Nick Craig from the Core Leadership Institute that goes even deeper into your personal purpose. Before this, Camila had sent us a video of herself paragliding in a recent adventure. Instead of fear and hesitation, we saw Camila in a state of pure joy, laughter, and freedom.

As a result, the words of her purpose statement did change, but its sentiment remained the same. Camila is a leader who inspires us with the confidence to take bold leaps – both literally and figuratively – to make a meaningful impact. It’s something she has done for herself all along, and now she can help many others do the same.
